Alta Daily and Flamingo are both AI closet apps that put outfits on an avatar that looks like you, but they lean different ways. Alta is built around planning: it imports clothes from email receipts, suggests outfits for your calendar, budget and the weather, makes packing lists for trips and tracks cost per wear, and its App Store listing says it's free. Flamingo is built around trying things on: it makes your twin, a free AI avatar, from a selfie and a head-to-toe photo, then dresses it in clothes you own, pieces from the shops, or a whole outfit lifted from a screenshot, so you can see a look on yourself before you buy it. Flamingo also has Inspo, a feed of looks other people made that you can put on your twin in one tap. Making the twin is free. Try-ons need Flamingo Pro, a subscription. This page is written by the Flamingo team, and every Alta detail comes from Alta's own App Store listing.

Which one should I use?
- Pick Alta if you mainly want an organised closet, outfit planning around your diary and trips, cost-per-wear numbers, and you'd rather not pay.
- Pick Flamingo if you mainly want to see new clothes on yourself before you buy them, try outfits you saw online, or browse looks other people made and wear them on your twin.
- Use both if you like. Neither app locks your photos in, and you can photograph the same clothes into each.
What does Flamingo do differently?
- Two photos for the twin. A selfie for the face and a full-length photo for the body, so the twin matches your face and build. It keeps the same pose and light for every try-on, which makes outfits easy to compare.
- Screenshots become clothes. Add a screenshot of a shop page or of someone's outfit and Flamingo cuts out each piece. Read how to try on clothes from a screenshot.
- Full outfits in one go. Put a top, trousers, shoes and accessories on together, mixing pieces you own with pieces you might buy.
- Roast my fit. A blunt score out of 10 for an outfit.
What does Alta do that Flamingo doesn't?
Alta reads email receipts to fill your closet, plans packing lists for trips, tracks cost per wear and alerts you when wishlist items go on sale. Flamingo doesn't do those. Alta's listing also says it is free, while Flamingo try-ons need a subscription.
How do I switch from Alta to Flamingo?
- Open Flamingo on iPhone or at app.tryflamingo.app.
- Make your twin from a selfie and a head-to-toe photo. It's free.
- Photograph the clothes you wear most. One photo can hold several pieces.
- Try on an outfit and compare it with the before/after slider.
There is no import from Alta, so start with the pieces you wear most.
