Community Rules

Welcome to the Flamingo community 🦩 — a space to share fits, swap inspo, and shape what we build next.

These rules apply everywhere Flamingo runs a community space: in-app community (when enabled), Discord, Reddit, Instagram comments, and any other official Flamingo channel. By participating, you agree to follow them.

1. Be kind

• No harassment, bullying, threats, or targeted attacks.
• No hate speech or slurs based on race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or body type.
• Critique outfits, not people. "This jacket fights the pants" is fine. "You look terrible" is not.
• Disagree without dismissing. Style is subjective.

2. Keep it safe-for-work

• No nudity, sexually explicit content, or fetish content.
• No graphic violence, gore, or self-harm imagery.
• No content involving minors beyond what a parent would post of their own kid in normal clothes.
• No drugs, weapons, or illegal-activity glorification.

3. Be honest

• Use your own photos, or credit the source clearly.
• No impersonation of other users, public figures, or the Flamingo team.
• Disclose paid partnerships and affiliate links. Undisclosed promo = removed.
• No fake "before/after" claims about Flamingo's AI Try-On.

4. No spam, no scams

• No mass-posting, bot activity, or follower farming.
• No "DM me to buy", crypto pitches, MLMs, or off-platform schemes.
• No reselling links, dropship dumps, or affiliate-only posts.
• One affiliate or shop link per post max, and only if relevant to the outfit.

5. Respect privacy

• Don't post photos of other people without their consent.
• Don't share anyone's personal info (address, phone, email, real name if they go by a handle) — yours or others'.
• Blur or crop out kids and bystanders in mirror selfies.
• Don't screenshot private DMs and post them publicly.

6. Stay on-topic

The community is for fashion, style, wardrobe, outfits, and Flamingo feedback. Off-topic posts (politics, current events, unrelated memes) may be removed.

7. No gaming the system

• No vote manipulation, fake accounts, or coordinated brigading.
• No reposting the same content across threads to farm engagement.
• No exploiting bugs to gain visibility.

8. Respect intellectual property

• Don't post other creators' content without credit.
• Don't upload copyrighted images you don't have rights to use as your own.
• We honor valid DMCA takedowns — see Terms of Use.

How moderation works

We use a tiered approach:

1. Warning — first minor violation, content removed, you get a note.
2. Temporary mute / suspension — for repeat or moderate violations.
3. Permanent ban — for severe violations (hate speech, harassment, sexual content involving minors, scams, repeated abuse).

Severe violations skip straight to ban. Some categories (CSAM, credible threats) are reported to law enforcement.

How to report

• In-app: tap the ⋯ menu on any post → "Report".
• Email: safety@tryflamingo.app
• Include a link or screenshot, and the rule you believe was broken.

We aim to review reports within 48 hours.

Appeals

If you think a moderation action was wrong, email safety@tryflamingo.app with your username and what was removed. A different moderator than the one who actioned it will review.

Changes

We may update these rules as the community grows. Material changes will be announced in the community feed and via email if you've subscribed to product updates.
